Problem

A long horizontal wire PP is rigidly fixed and carries a current of 50 A50\,\text{A}. Another wire QQ of linear mass density λ=1.0×10−3 kg/m\lambda = 1.0 \times 10^{-3}\,\text{kg/m} is placed directly above PP, parallel to it. Wire QQ carries the same current (50 A50\,\text{A}) but in the opposite direction. Calculate the vertical separation distance at which wire QQ floats in equilibrium due to magnetic repulsion. (Take g=10 m/s2g = 10\,\text{m/s}^{2})
