Problem

Let DD be a simple digraph with nn vertices and aa arcs. Assume that DD has no loops, and that we have a>n2/2a > n^2/2. Prove the following: (a) The digraph DD has a cycle of length 3. (b) We define an enhanced 33-cycle to be a triple (u,v,w)(u, v, w) of distinct vertices of DD such that all four pairs (u,v)(u, v), (v,w)(v, w), (w,u)(w, u) and (u,w)(u, w) are arcs of DD. Then, the digraph DD has an enhanced 3-cycle.
