Problem

Calculate the following expectation values for the hydrogen atom: (a) ⟨nl∣r2∣nl⟩\langle nl | r^2 | nl \rangle, (b) ⟨nl∣r∣nl⟩\langle nl | r | nl \rangle, (c) ⟨nl∣r−1∣nl⟩\langle nl | r^{-1} | nl \rangle, (d) ⟨nl∣r−2∣nl⟩\langle nl | r^{-2} | nl \rangle, (e) ⟨nl∣r−3∣nl⟩\langle nl | r^{-3} | nl \rangle, (f) ⟨nlm∣δ(3)(x)∣nlm⟩\langle nlm | \delta^{(3)}(x) | nlm \rangle. Note concerning (a–e): Consider the recursion formula proven in the preceding exercise. You then need only compute one expectation value directly.
