Problem

Suppose XX is a nonempty set and b(X)b(X) is the vector space of bounded functions from XX to F\mathbf{F}. Prove that if ∥⋅∥\|\cdot\| is defined on b(X)b(X) by ∥f∥=sup⁡X∣f∣\|f\| = \sup_X |f|, then b(X)b(X) is a Banach space.
