Problem

Let VV be the vector space of all 2×22 \times 2 matrices over the field of real numbers, and let B=[2−2−11].B = \begin{bmatrix} 2 & -2 \\ -1 & 1 \end{bmatrix}. Let WW be the subspace of VV consisting of all AA such that AB=0AB = 0. Let ff be a linear functional on VV which is in the annihilator of WW. Suppose that f(I)=0f(I) = 0 and f(C)=3f(C) = 3, where II is the 2×22 \times 2 identity matrix and C=[0001].C = \begin{bmatrix} 0 & 0 \\ 0 & 1 \end{bmatrix}. Find f(B)f(B).
