Problem

Let VV be the space of complex n×nn \times n matrices equipped with the inner product (A∣B)=tr⁡(AB∗)(A|B) = \operatorname{tr}(AB^*). If BB is an element of VV, let LBL_B, RBR_B, and TBT_B denote the linear operators on VV defined by (a) LB(A)=BAL_B(A) = BA. (b) RB(A)=ABR_B(A) = AB. (c) TB(A)=BA−ABT_B(A) = BA - AB. Consider the three families of operators obtained by letting BB vary over all diagonal matrices. Show that each of these families is a commutative self-adjoint algebra and find their spectral resolutions.
