Problem

A solid horizontal disk of moment of inertia I=20 kg⋅m2I = 20\,\text{kg}\cdot\text{m}^{2} is rotating at an angular speed of 5 rad/s5\,\text{rad/s} about a fixed vertical axis passing through its center. A sandbag of mass 4 kg4\,\text{kg} is gently dropped onto the disk at a distance of 0.5 m0.5\,\text{m} from the axis. The sandbag sticks to the disk. Determine the new angular speed of the system.
