Problem

Consider covering spaces p:X~→Xp : \tilde{X} \to X with X~\tilde{X} and XX connected CW complexes, the cells of X~\tilde{X} projecting homeomorphically onto cells of XX. Restricting pp to the 1-skeleton then gives a covering space X~1→X1\tilde{X}^1 \to X^1 over the 1-skeleton of XX. Show: ((a)) Two such covering spaces X~1→X\tilde{X}_1 \to X and X~2→X\tilde{X}_2 \to X are isomorphic iff the restrictions X~11→X1\tilde{X}_1^1 \to X^1 and X~21→X1\tilde{X}_2^1 \to X^1 are isomorphic. ((b)) X~→X\tilde{X} \to X is a normal covering space iff X~1→X1\tilde{X}^1 \to X^1 is normal. ((c)) The groups of deck transformations of the coverings X~→X\tilde{X} \to X and X~1→X1\tilde{X}^1 \to X^1 are isomorphic, via the restriction map.
