Problem

Suppose F1F_1 is a nonempty subset of Rm\mathbf{R}^m and F2F_2 is a nonempty subset of Rn\mathbf{R}^n. Prove that F1×F2F_1 \times F_2 is a closed subset of Rm×Rn\mathbf{R}^m \times \mathbf{R}^n if and only if F1F_1 is a closed subset of Rm\mathbf{R}^m and F2F_2 is a closed subset of Rn\mathbf{R}^n.
