Problem

Suppose that AA is an m×nm \times n matrix and BB is an n×pn \times p matrix. Prove that the column space of ABAB is a subset of the column space of AA, that is C(AB)⊆C(A)\mathcal{C}(AB) \subseteq \mathcal{C}(A). Provide an example where the opposite is false, in other words give an example where C(A)⊈C(AB)\mathcal{C}(A) \not\subseteq \mathcal{C}(AB).
