Problem

Given a real number yy and b>0b > 0, define f:(0,∞)→Rf : (0,\infty) \to \mathbb{R} and g:R→Rg : \mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R} as f(x):=xyf(x) := x^y and g(x):=bxg(x) := b^x. Show that ff and gg are differentiable and find their derivative.
