Problem

Let AA be an n×nn \times n matrix with real entries. Let TT be the linear operator on RnR^n which is represented by AA in the standard ordered basis, and let UU be the linear operator on CnC^n which is represented by AA in the standard ordered basis. Use the result of Exercise 20 to prove the following: If the only subspaces invariant under TT are RnR^n and the zero subspace, then UU is diagonalizable.
