Problem

A particle of mass mm is in the ground state of an infinite square well of width aa. The right wall suddenly expands to 2a2a (making it a well of width 2a2a). (a) Using the sudden approximation, what is the probability that the particle is still in the ground state of the well (now of width 2a2a)? (b) What is the probability that the particle is in the first excited state of the new well?
