If a body is floating on the surface of a liquid, then, according to Archimedes' principle, its weight is equal to that of the displaced liquid. Thus, if the body be replaced by an equal weight of the liquid, the level of the liquid will not be altered, and therefore the amount of work required to raise the level of the liquid through a height h will not be altered either.
