Problem

While falling freely from rest, a stone is observed to cover a distance of 45 m45\,\text{m} in one particular one–second interval. Take g=10 m/s2g = 10\,\text{m/s}^2. a. (i) Determine which second of the motion corresponds to this 45 m45\,\text{m} displacement. b. (ii) Find the distance the stone will cover in the immediately following one–second interval. c. (iii) Calculate the total distance the stone has fallen from rest up to the end of the second found in part (i).
