Problem

Consider L=12[(∂ϕ1)2+(∂ϕ2)2]−λ(ϕ14+ϕ24)−gϕ12ϕ22\mathcal{L} = \frac{1}{2}\left[(\partial \phi_1)^2 + (\partial \phi_2)^2\right] - \lambda(\phi_1^4 + \phi_2^4) - g\phi_1^2\phi_2^2 We have taken the O(2)O(2) theory from chapter I.10 and broken the symmetry explicitly. Work out the renormalization group flow in the (λ−g)(\lambda - g) plane and draw your own conclusions.
