Problem

A steel cube of side 4 cm4\,\text{cm} is coated uniformly on all faces with a 0.2 cm0.2\,\text{cm} thick layer of paraffin wax. Density of steel is 7.8 g cm−37.8\,\text{g cm}^{-3} and that of wax is 0.9 g cm−30.9\,\text{g cm}^{-3}. Water has density 1.0 g cm−31.0\,\text{g cm}^{-3}. Calculate: a. (i) the total mass of the coated cube b. (ii) the total volume of the coated cube c. (iii) the average density of the coated cube and state whether it will float or sink in water
