Problem

Let VV be the space of all n×1n \times 1 matrices over CC, AA an n×nn \times n matrix over CC, and ff the bilinear form on VV given by f(X,Y)=XtAYf(X, Y) = X^t A Y. Show that ff is invariant under O(n,C)O(n, C), i.e., f(MX,MY)=f(X,Y)f(MX, MY) = f(X, Y) for all X,YX, Y in VV and MM in O(n,C)O(n, C), if and only if AA commutes with each member of O(n,C)O(n, C).
