Problem

A perfectly conducting spherical shell of radius aa rotates about the zz axis with angular velocity ω\omega, in a uniform magnetic field B=B0z^\mathbf{B} = B_0 \hat{z}. Calculate the emf developed between the "north pole" and the equator. [Answer: 12B0ωa2\frac{1}{2}B_0 \omega a^2]
