Problem

Answer the following with reference to polynomials. a. (i) State the Factor Theorem for a polynomial in one variable. b. (ii) For the polynomial f(x)=x3−2x2−5x+6f(x)=x^{3}-2x^{2}-5x+6, verify that x=3x=3 is a zero of the polynomial. c. (iii) Using the result of part (ii), explain why f(x)f(x) can be expressed in the form (x−3)q(x)(x-3)q(x), where q(x)q(x) is a quadratic polynomial.
