Problem

A function ff is defined by f(x)=3xnf(x)=3 x^{n}, where nn is a real number different from −1-1. Let F(x)F(x) be an antiderivative of ff such that the curve y=F(x)y=F(x) passes through the points (1,5)(1,5) and (3,31)(3,31). a. (i) Write F(x)F(x) in terms of nn and the constant of integration CC. b. (ii) Form equations by substituting the given points and hence find the exact values of nn and CC.
