Problem

In △XYZ\triangle XYZ, the side lengths are XY=15 cmXY = 15\,\text{cm}, XZ=24 cmXZ = 24\,\text{cm} and YZ=30 cmYZ = 30\,\text{cm}. A point PP on XYXY is such that XP=6 cmXP = 6\,\text{cm}. The line through PP drawn parallel to XZXZ meets YZYZ at QQ. A point RR on XZXZ is chosen so that XR=9 cmXR = 9\,\text{cm}. The line through RR drawn parallel to XYXY meets YZYZ at SS. (i) Determine YQYQ and QZQZ. (ii) Calculate YSYS and SZSZ. (iii) Find QSQS and hence obtain the ratio of the area of trapezium PQRSPQRS to the area of △XYZ\triangle XYZ.
