Problem

A circuit consists of a 4 Ω4\,\Omega resistor and a 12 Ω12\,\Omega resistor connected in series. This series branch is connected in parallel with an 8 Ω8\,\Omega resistor across a 24 V24\,\text V source of negligible internal resistance. a. (i) Calculate the equivalent resistance of the entire circuit. b. (ii) Find the current supplied by the source. c. (iii) Determine the power dissipated in each of the three resistors. d. (iv) Verify that the sum of the individual powers obtained in part (iii) equals the total power delivered by the source.
