Problem

Let VV be a finite-dimensional vector space and let TT be a linear operator on VV. Suppose that rank(T2)=rank(T)\text{rank}(T^2) = \text{rank}(T). Prove that the range and null space of TT are disjoint, i.e., have only the zero vector in common.
