Problem

Let VV be the vector space of the polynomials over RR of degree less than or equal to 3, with the inner product (f∣g)=∫01f(t)g(t) dt.(f|g) = \int_0^1 f(t)g(t)\, dt. If tt is a real number, find the polynomial gtg_t in VV such that (f∣gt)=f(t)(f|g_t) = f(t) for all ff in VV.
