Problem

Let c1c_1 be a cluster point of A⊂RA \subset \mathbb{R} and c2c_2 be a cluster point of B⊂RB \subset \mathbb{R}. Suppose f:A→Bf : A \to B and g:B→Rg : B \to \mathbb{R} are functions such that f(x)→c2f(x) \to c_2 as x→c1x \to c_1 and g(y)→Lg(y) \to L as y→c2y \to c_2. If c2∈Bc_2 \in B, also suppose that g(c2)=Lg(c_2) = L. Let h(x):=g(f(x))h(x) := g\bigl(f(x)\bigr) and show h(x)→Lh(x) \to L as x→c1x \to c_1. Hint: Note that f(x)f(x) could equal c2c_2 for many x∈Ax \in A, see also Exercise 3.1.14.
