Problem

A kettle contains 1.5 litres of water at an initial temperature of 15 °C. The kettle is supplied with energy at a rate of 1.5 kW. - specific heat capacity of water = 4.2 kJ∘C−1kg−14.2 \text{ kJ}^{\circ}\text{C}^{-1}\text{kg}^{-1} - specific latent heat of vaporisation of water = 2.3 MJkg−12.3 \text{ MJkg}^{-1} Calculate the time it takes for all the water to have boiled away so that there is no water left in the kettle. Assume that no energy is lost to the kettle itself or to the surroundings.
