Problem

In an experiment on a metallic resistor, the voltmeter connected across it reads 3.2 V3.2\,\text{V} when the ammeter in series shows 0.32 A0.32\,\text{A}. Assume the temperature of the resistor remains unchanged. a. (i) Calculate the resistance of the resistor. b. (ii) If the applied potential difference is increased uniformly to 10 V10\,\text{V}, determine the current you would expect through the resistor, provided it continues to obey Ohm’s law. c. (iii) Briefly explain how a rise in temperature of the resistor during the experiment could affect the result obtained in part (ii).
