Problem

A train moves at speed vv with respect to the ground. Two events occur simultaneously, a distance LL apart, in the train frame. What are the time and space separations in the ground frame? Solve this by: (a) Using the Lorentz transformations. (b) Using only the results in Section 11.3. Do this by working in the ground frame, and then again by working in the train frame.
