Problem

Prove a stronger version of Proposition 2.3.7. Suppose {xn}n=1∞\{x_n\}_{n=1}^\infty is a sequence such that every subsequence {xnm}m=1∞\{x_{n_m}\}_{m=1}^\infty has a subsequence {xnmi}i=1∞\{x_{n_{m_i}}\}_{i=1}^\infty that converges to xx. a) First show that {xn}n=1∞\{x_n\}_{n=1}^\infty is bounded. b) Now show that {xn}n=1∞\{x_n\}_{n=1}^\infty converges to xx.
