Problem

(a) Suppose that the sequence (cn)(c_n) converges to zero. Show that ∑n≥0cn\sum_{n\geq 0} c_n converges if and only if ∑k≥0(c2k+c2k+1)\sum_{k\geq 0}(c_{2k} + c_{2k+1}) converges. Moreover, if the two series converge then they have the same limit. (b) Give an example where (cn)(c_n) does not converge to 00 and one of the series in (a) diverges while the other converges.
