A laboratory investigation produced the following values of force on a 0.30m long straight conductor kept perpendicular to a uniform magnetic field while different currents were passed through it. The strength of the magnetic field was constant but unknown.
a. Current I (A): 2468
Force F (N): 0.480.961.441.92
b. (i) Using the given data, draw a graph of force F (vertical axis) versus current I (horizontal axis) on a suitable scale.
c. (ii) From your graph, find the slope and hence determine the magnetic flux density B present in the experiment.
d. (iii) Use the graph to predict the force that would act on the conductor if the current were increased to 10A under the same conditions.
