Problem

For the delta function potential well 2mℏ2V(x)=−λbδ(x)\frac{2m}{\hbar^2} V(x) = -\frac{\lambda}{b}\delta(x) use a Gaussian wave function as a trial wave function to obtain an upper bound for the ground-state energy. Compare with the result of Problem 6.19.
