Problem

Suppose mm and nn are positive integers. For v∈Fmv \in \mathbf{F}^m and w∈Fnw \in \mathbf{F}^n, identify v⊗wv \otimes w with an mm-by-nn matrix as in Example 9.76. With that identification, show that the set {v⊗w:v∈Fm and w∈Fn}\{v \otimes w : v \in \mathbf{F}^m \text{ and } w \in \mathbf{F}^n\} is the set of mm-by-nn matrices (with entries in F\mathbf{F}) that have rank at most one.
