Problem

A battery of emf 12 V is connected in series with three resistors of 2 Ω, 3 Ω and 5 Ω. (i) Calculate the equivalent resistance of the combination. (ii) Determine the current flowing through the circuit. (iii) Find the potential difference across each resistor. (iv) Show by numerical verification that the algebraic sum of the three potential differences equals the emf of the battery. a.
