Problem

Two masses, MaM_a and MbM_b, attached to the end of springs a and b, respectively, undergo simple harmonic motion on a horizontal, frictionless surface. If the periods of motion are identical, and if Mb=2MaM_b = 2M_a, the amplitudes A of oscillation of the two masses are related by (a) Ab=Aa/2A_b = A_a/\sqrt{2} (b) Aa=Ab/4A_a = A_b/4 (c) Aa=AbA_a = A_b (d) none of the above.
