Let f(z)=∑n=0∞cnzn=1+z+2z2+3z3+5z4+8z5+13z6+⋯f(z) = \displaystyle\sum_{n=0}^{\infty} c_n z^n = 1 + z + 2z^2 + 3z^3 + 5z^4 + 8z^5 + 13z^6 + \cdots, where the coefficients cnc_n are the Fibonacci numbers defined by c0=1c_0 = 1, c1=1c_1 = 1, and cn=cn−1+cn−2c_n = c_{n-1} + c_{n-2}, for n≥2n \geq 2. ((a)) Show that f(z)=11−z−z2f(z) = \dfrac{1}{1-z-z^2}, for all z∈DR(0)z \in D_R(0) for some number RR. ((b)) Find the value of RR in part (a) for which the series representation is valid. Hint: Find the singularities of f(z)f(z) and use Corollary 7.3.
