Problem

Let ff be nonconstant and analytic in the closed disk D‾1(0)\overline{D}_1(0). Suppose that ∣f(z)∣|f(z)| is constant for z∈C1(0)z \in C_1(0), i.e., that there is some number KK such that ∣f(z)∣=K|f(z)| = K for all z∈C1(0)z \in C_1(0). Show that ff has a zero in D‾1(0)\overline{D}_1(0), i.e., that there exists some z0∈D‾1(0)z_0 \in \overline{D}_1(0) such that f(z0)=0f(z_0) = 0. Hint: use both the minimum modulus principle (see Exercise 7) and maximum modulus principle.
