In ΔGHI\Delta GHI the sides are GH=3y−2 cmGH = 3y - 2\,\text{cm}, HI=4y+1 cmHI = 4y + 1\,\text{cm} and IG=5y−3 cmIG = 5y - 3\,\text{cm}. In another triangle ΔXYZ\Delta XYZ the sides are XY=6y−4 cmXY = 6y - 4\,\text{cm}, YZ=8y+2 cmYZ = 8y + 2\,\text{cm} and ZX=10y−6 cmZX = 10y - 6\,\text{cm}. a. (i) Show that the corresponding sides of the two triangles are in a constant ratio. b. (ii) If the perimeter of ΔXYZ\Delta XYZ is 64 cm64\,\text{cm}, find the value of yy and hence the numerical lengths of all six sides. c. (iii) Find the ratio of the areas of the two triangles.
