Problem

Let GG be a multigraph with an even number of vertices. Assume that each vertex of GG has an even degree. Prove that GG has an even number of spanning trees. [Hint: First show a lemma: Let n∈Nn \in \mathbb{N} be odd. Let BB be an n×nn \times n-matrix with integer entries. Assume that BB is symmetric (i.e., satisfies BT=BB^T = B), and that all diagonal entries of BB are even. Then, det⁡B\det B is even.]
