A student begins at corner A of a rectangular playground whose length AB is 120m and breadth BC is 90m. He first walks from A to B, then from B to C, and stops at C.
a. (i) Find the total distance covered by the student.
b. (ii) Calculate the magnitude of the displacement from A to C and state its direction with respect to side AB.
c. (iii) If the student had instead walked directly from A to C, comment on whether the distance travelled would equal the displacement. Give a brief justification.
