Problem

In YDSE, if a bichromatic light having wavelengths λ1\lambda_1 and λ2\lambda_2 is used, then the maxima due to both lights will overlap at a certain distance yy from the central maxima. Take separation between slits as dd and distance between screen and slits as DD . Then the value of yy will be (1) (λ1+λ22D)d\left(\frac{\lambda_1 + \lambda_2}{2D}\right)d (2) (λ1−λ2D)2d\left(\frac{\lambda_1 - \lambda_2}{D}\right)2d (3) LCM of λ1Dd\frac{\lambda_1 D}{d} and λ2Dd\frac{\lambda_2 D}{d} (4) HCF of λ1Dd\frac{\lambda_1 D}{d} and λ2Dd\frac{\lambda_2 D}{d}
