Problem

Show that H~n(X)≈H~n+1(SX)\widetilde{H}_n(X) \approx \widetilde{H}_{n+1}(SX) for all nn, where SXSX is the suspension of XX. More generally, thinking of SXSX as the union of two cones CXCX with their bases identified, compute the reduced homology groups of the union of any finite number of cones CXCX with their bases identified.
