Problem

Suppose DD is nonempty, f:D→Rf : D \to \mathbb{R} and g:D→Rg : D \to \mathbb{R} are bounded functions, and α∈R\alpha \in \mathbb{R}. a) Show that αf:D→R\alpha f : D \to \mathbb{R} defined by (αf)(x):=αf(x)(\alpha f)(x) := \alpha f(x) is a bounded function. b) Show that f+g:D→Rf + g : D \to \mathbb{R} defined by (f+g)(x):=f(x)+g(x)(f + g)(x) := f(x) + g(x) is a bounded function.
