Problem

To increase the transmittance of the wave received by the piezo transducer, it is connected to the medium under study through a special spacer. The density and speed of sound in the medium under study are equal to ρ1\rho_1 and c1c_1 respectively, the density and speed of sound in the gasket and the piezo-sensor crystal are equal to ρ2\rho_2, c2c_2 and ρ3\rho_3, c3c_3 respectively. Let ρ1c1ρ2c2=ρ2c2ρ3c3=4\frac{\rho_1 c_1}{\rho_2 c_2} = \frac{\rho_2 c_2}{\rho_3 c_3} = 4. Compare in terms of power the signals arriving at the sensor with and without the pad, if the duration of the signal is shorter than the time of its passage through the pad.
