Problem

Line L1L_1 passes through the points A(k,2)A(k,2) and B(4,6)B(4,6). Another line L2L_2 passes through the points C(−1,7)C(-1,7) and D(2,13)D(2,13). a. (i) Find the value of kk so that L1L_1 is parallel to L2L_2. b. (ii) Give a brief geometrical explanation to justify why the value of kk obtained in part (i) guarantees that the two lines are parallel.
