Problem

Suppose T∈L(V)T \in \mathcal{L}(V) is invertible. Let pp denote the characteristic polynomial of TT and let qq denote the characteristic polynomial of T−1T^{-1}. Prove that q(z)=1p(0)zdim⁡Vp ⁣(1z)q(z) = \frac{1}{p(0)} z^{\dim V} p\!\left(\frac{1}{z}\right) for all nonzero z∈Fz \in \mathbf{F}.
