Problem

Show that u(1)u^{(1)} and u(2)u^{(2)} [eq. (7.46)] are orthogonal in the sense that u(1)†u(2)=0u^{(1)\dagger}u^{(2)} = 0. Likewise, show that u(3)u^{(3)} and u(4)u^{(4)} are orthogonal. Are u(1)u^{(1)} and u(3)u^{(3)} orthogonal?
