Problem

One mole of an ideal diatomic gas at T0=300  KT_0 = 300\;\text{K} and p0=1.0  atmp_0 = 1.0\;\text{atm} is compressed to half its volume. Compare the work done on the gas for (a) isothermal and (b) adiabatic compression. Use γ=7/5\gamma = 7/5.
