Problem

A particle of mass mm has the wave function Ψ(x,t)=Ae−a[(mx2/ℏ)+it],\Psi(x, t) = Ae^{-a\left[(mx^2/\hbar) + it\right]}, where AA and aa are positive real constants. (a) Find AA. (b) For what potential energy function, V(x)V(x), is this a solution to the Schrödinger equation? (c) Calculate the expectation values of xx, x2x^2, pp, and p2p^2. (d) Find σx\sigma_x and σp\sigma_p. Is their product consistent with the uncertainty principle?
